Kituko

About

The global coffee industry is a massive $450 billion market, yet farmers receive a mere 8% of this revenue. Large corporations dictate prices, often paying coffee farmers minimal amounts through intermediaries. As a result, over 10 million coffee farmers struggle to make a living and lack control over pricing.

While specialty coffee importers do offer fair prices for high-quality beans, this system leaves many conventional farmers behind, as only those who meet specific quality standards benefit. The quality of coffee is influenced by factors like soil, weather, and location, and many farmers need support to reach these standards.

Kituko aims to bridge this gap by empowering overlooked farmers. We focus on providing resources and knowledge to help them improve their coffee quality while ensuring they receive fair compensation for their hard work. Our mission is to build long-term partnerships that enhance both production quality and farmers' livelihoods, giving every passionate producer a chance to thrive in the market.

Be unique.

Farmers

Forgotten

Welcome to Kituko, where we celebrate uniqueness. Every country, every cup tells a story shaped by its own traditions and flavors. Just like people, no two coffees are the same, and we want to honor the lands and farmers whose passion and technique create each unique brew. Like them, we invite you to explore the flavors and cultures that make each cup special.

Coffee is a chance to connect, take a moment, and share stories. Whether you're telling your tale or listening to someone else's, each cup is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and authenticity.

Dare to be yourself and allow others to do the same, every sip is a story waiting to be told.

Honest Trade

Its very simple, Coffee famers, like any other agriculture professional, should be paid fairly for their product. We choose coffees from importers who can show they pay a fair price to the farmers.

Profit sharing

On top of paying a fair base price for the coffees we buy. We commit to share 33% of our profit to the farmers we cooperate with. The farmers receive these profits and decide among themselves how to use it. This way we share the benefits of making great coffee!

We roast coffee on Tuesdays, fresh bags are sent out the following day.

About me

Thanks to my studies in Sustainable Agriculture, I've had the chance to travel and collaborate with coffee importers and farmers firsthand. Connecting with them, gathered around a steaming mug, and listening to their stories made it clear that their work was a testament to their dedication and love. With each sip, they shared tales passed down through generations, making me gain a profound appreciation for the connection between coffee and community. Their devotion fueled my own passion, and, after understanding that I am most definitely not made for a life behind a desk, I took a leap of faith to pursue my dream: launching my own coffee roastery.
